A fire station in Albuquerque, N.M., went in on an office pool for Friday’s record Mega Millions jackpot, and while they didn’t win the big prize, they did match five of the numbers, enough for a smaller payout. The entire station went in on the pool, and the winners – who are due to receive about $1,400 each – are donating the winnings to the Firefighter Survivors Fund in order to help a fellow firefighter who has a brain tumor.
    Quote of note
"This was a calculated, cold-blooded execution in the classroom. (He) just felt a certain urge to inflict pain on them.” – Oakland, Calif., Police Chief Howard Jordan, talking about the accused shooter at Oikos University. The suspect, One Goh, 43, lined up people and shot them execution style, police said. Seven people were killed.
