Rain delayed the kickoff of the game pitting the Prescott Curley Wolves against the Nashville Scrappers but the delay didn’t work in the Wolves’ favor. The Wolves gave up the game, 10-34.
Nashville took the lead over Prescott less than half way into the first quarter but the Prescott Curley Wolves managed to answer that touchdown, tying the game at 7. But the second quarter was all about the Scrappers as Nashville made unanswered scores and took a hefty 13-point lead.
A penalty and a fumble put the Scrappers near their own 30-yard line with a third down and an incomplete pass put them at fourth down. Prescott took over there but it was quickly third down with eight yards left to go. Jordan Williamson took the quarterback spot and connected with a Curley Wolf runner. That run took the Wolves to their own 15-yard line. The next plays saw the Wolves brought down near their own line of scrimmage.
Juan Duran took the snap for the kick and made the field goal, taking the score to 10-20 with the Wolves still trailing.
With almost six minutes left in the third quarter, Nashville took a penalty and the Wolves kept the Scrappers from running the ball on the first plays but then the Scrappers managed a short run putting them to fourth down and two. The Curley Wolf fans were on their feet as the Scrappers took a time out. The Scrappers handed off and the Scrappers got a first down, a call that drew Wolf fans to their feet in anger.
