It was total domination on the gridiron Tuesday night for the No. 1 ranked and defending Class 3A state champion Prescott Curley Wolves successfully defeating Class 2A Hampton Bulldogs 30-6 in the 2017 Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield Kickoff Classic presented by Hooten's Arkansas Football hosted at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.

It was total domination on the gridiron Tuesday night for the No. 1 ranked and defending Class 3A state champion Prescott Curley Wolves successfully defeating Class 2A Hampton Bulldogs 30-6 in the 2017 Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield Kickoff Classic presented by Hooten's Arkansas Football hosted at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.

The Curley Wolves kicked off their gridiron performance on Rip Powell Field at Wilkins Stadium with defense by shutting out the Bulldogs for the entire first half and third quarter. The Bulldogs squeezed in their lone score of the game at the 7:13 mark in the fourth quarter.

The Curley Wolves began their scoring summary in the first quarter by a safety from Derrick Thompson at the 9:41 mark to give Prescott a 2-0 lead. Then Thomas Muldrew returned a kickoff for a 64-yard touchdown run at the 9:30 mark to extend Prescott's lead 9-0. Trey Rucker sparked for one of several fumble recoveries of the game at the 8:36 mark which led to another touchdown run from My'Kal Burns for 4-yards to put Prescott ahead 16-0 at the 8:01 mark. Quarterback Cade Haynie launched a touchdown pass reception for 29 yards to Prescott receiver at the 2:07 mark putting the Curley Wolves up 23-0. Prescott ended first half action with a huge defensive play by Derrium Thompson on an interception with the Curley Wolves leading Hampton 23-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Rucker sparked the defense again with his second fumble recovery at the 9:50 mark in the third quarter. Prescott wouldn't score on this series of possessions and forced to punt at the 8:46 mark. Hampton's offense would be stopped by a forceful Prescott defense and forced to punt down to the 3:11 mark. Prescott took back possession and two key first down running drives by M. Burns would lead to the final end zone trip for Prescott. Burns soared into the end zone on a 20-yard touchdown run with 29 seconds left to play in the third quarter. Kade "Money" Honea kicked his fourth consecutive PAT of the game to go 4 of 4 on PAT's as Prescott went on to extend their unbeaten winning streak to now 16 consecutive wins since last season.

The Curley Wolves 1-0 overall are picked and favored to repeat for the state title as they're ranked No. 1 overall in preseason ranking polls in the Arkansas AP Prep Poll and Hooten's Arkansas Football for Class 3A.

The Curley Wolves will be off for the remainder of week including the Labor Day holiday and return to action next Friday Sept. 8 for their season home-opener hosting Camden Harmony Grove at Eddie Jackson Field at Cummins Stadium. Kickoff at 7 p.m.
