Dear Editor,

I know that most of you watch the news very closely; therefore, you are aware that our Washington politicians have lost their minds. It is as though they are trying to destroy our Christian values, our economy, our standard of living and the way the world views our country, all before the president’s poll numbers tank. And is not just the Democrats’ doing it. The Republicans were screwing things up before the Democrats gained control. But right now the Democrats are in control and their conduct is generally dishonest and despicable. Trust them at your peril. The latest fiasco is Nancy Pelosi’s and Harry Reed’s 1.5 trillion dollar health care proposal (H.R. 3200) and basically the reason why I am writing this letter. As usual those touting the bill have not even read it. And as was the case with the stimulus bill and cap and trade, those supporting the health care bill are in a frenzy to get the bill passed before the public finds out what is in it. However, I think I have heard enough already and am convinced that this proposal will destroy what is currently a really good American health care system. I am alive today because of our health care. And I don’t want to see this American system replaced by a government plan, administrated by a socialist government. I am a veteran and I go to the VA in Little Rock. I like the care that is provided there, but I am not forced to go there, as I would under the Obama plan; and if I had something really life threatening I would likely go to a different facility. Then too, if I understand the Democrats’ health care proposal correctly the VA, Medicare, Medicaid and Private Care will all eventually be combined into one huge health care system run by the government. The government run health care provided to American Indians would likely be consolidated into this plan also. Obama says that we would be allowed to choose our own doctors, but most agree that would only be during the transition period. He is simply lying to American people as there would be very few choices. Of course our congressmen and senators will be covered by a separate private plan of their choosing. And finally, the Obama administration has developed the plan so that twenty million illegal immigrants will be covered at taxpayer expense.
Is any of this acceptable to you? If it is not then you must act very quickly. We have to mobilize. The way to do this is to write, email or call Congressman Ross, Senator Pryor and Senator Lincoln. Tell them that you do not want them to vote for this huge government run health care program. That is the only way they will know your position on this important issue and the only way we can save our health care system.
You might also consider attending a TEA rally at one of these officials’ home office at noon on Aug. 22 for the recess rally. These rallies are planned to show opposition to the health care proposal while our officials are in the state and before they return to Washington to vote.
