Mr. Wayne Shaw, 75, of Hope, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at
Medical Park Hospital, Hope. He was born in Simms, Texas on October 24, 1933, to Ed and Margaret Pruitt Shaw.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1954 and retired after 23 years of service coming to Hope and becoming an associate with Pioneer Printers. He also was a former restaurant owner/operator; stereo business owner in the Dallas area; employee of The Brazzel Funeral Homes and owner of the Hunter Enterprises, a company that he and his wife had established and operated from his home for several years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hope and a member and teacher of the Century Bible Class there also.  He was a Mason, member of Whitfield Lodge # 239 and Evergreen Lodge of Hope, Ark. and a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner and a Royal Arch Mason.  He was a former member of the Hope Baseball Assoc and the concession stand worker and Hope Kiwanis member. He loved to golf, bowl, be outdoors and eat peaches.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved his family and he will be greatly missed.  He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Wanda Jean Cox Shaw, who died in March 2008.
His survivors include one son, Steve Shaw of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Sherry Shaw Felts of Little Rock; one sister, Mae Gannon of Boston, Mass.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Felts of Stuttgart, Meredith Felts of Little Rock and Hunter Shaw of Austin, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 2, at the First United Methodist Church of Hope, with Dr. Tandy Hanson and Rev. Cliff Johnson officiating. The burial was in Betts Cemetery in Hope. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Oakcrest, The Funeral Home of Hope.
The family received friends Saturday, Aug. 1, from 6-8 p.m., at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
