Mrs. Christine Garrett Childers, 91, of Prescott, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Medical Park Hospital.
She was born on May 10, 1918, in DeAnn, to Jasper Newton and Ada Leeana Hartsfield Garrett. She was a former retail clerk for Rephan’s Department Store of Prescott. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Prescott, having taught Sunday school and she formed the Ladies Fellowship Luncheon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C.J. Childers; and one son, Johnny M. “C.J.” Childers.
She is survived by one daughter, Kaye Childers Wesson and Lonnie of Prescott; three grandchildren, Jamie Howell of Hope, Amy Ward and Joe of Mesquite, Texas and April Cummings and Jeff of Prescott; three great-grandchildren, Megan Ward of Mesquite, Texas and Katie and Holly Cummings of Prescott; one special friend, Mary High of Texarkana and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was at 2 p.m., Monday, March 8, at Central Baptist Church of Prescott, with Revs. Tom Mitchell and Perry Johnson officiating. The burial was in Midway Cemetery in Prescott. The arrangements are by Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott.
