Mr. Hubert Lee Parker, 81, of Hope, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
He was born in Prescott, on Sept. 10, 1928, to Mr. David and Bessie Mae King Parker. He was a retired logger and poultry farmer, a Baptist, a member of the Prescott V.F.W. and he loved to dance.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ollie Pruitt Parker; two sons, David and Charles Parker; one daughter, Barbara Smith and one sister, Florene Rosing.
His survivors include two sisters, Laverne Masters of Bismarck and Lanell Nash of Murfreesboro; four grandchildren, Weston Smith and Carol of Prescott, Eric and Margie Smith and Angela Smith, all of Blevins, Nathan Smith and Nicole of Hope and a special friend, Joyce McRoy of Hope; nine great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
The graveside service was held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 28, at South Fork Cemetery in Gurdon, with Rev. James Cox officiating. Burial followed. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
The family received friends Sunday, Dec. 27, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
