Santa is planning breakfast in Prescott on Saturday, Dec. 20, and has issued an invitation for area children to join him for breakfast, games, prizes and – of course – a chance to get those last-minute wishes turned in.
The annual event, “Breakfast with Santa,” will be held from 9-11 a.m. and is open to all children up to age 12, according to Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Director Brandy Jones. Donut holes, juice, coffee and sausage and biscuits will be served to those who attend.
Santa will be on hand to take lists and photos will be available for $3.
Jones said there are a few new events this year as well as some old favorites. Children can make reindeer food – a mixture to be scattered on the lawn and guaranteed to attract Santa’s reindeer and make them want to stay longer so the Old Man can unload lots of toys. New to the breakfast is the “Pin the Nose on Rudolph” game as well as a snowman dart game. Christmas ornaments will be among the craft stations and letters to Santa can be mailed on the spot.
“It’s going to be a fabulous amount of fun,” Jones said. “There will be lots of prizes and lots of candy to hand out.”
There is no admission fee other than the donation of a canned food item. Those will be donated to FoodShare, a local food bank. Anyone who brings five non-perishable food items will be entered in a drawing for $25 in cash, Jones said. Breakfast, crafts and games are all free. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
