Greetings! Although fall has arrived our new Curley Cubs are still in the process of making the transition from an elementary school environment to middle school.
Here are a couple of suggestions that parents can use to support the transition; these suggestions can be helpful to returning Cubs as well.
The first suggestion is for parents to help their Cubs organize their school work. That could be as simple as creating a separate folder for each subject that can hold assignments and handouts. This way all information for a given subject is readily available when needed to prepare for a test or write a paper. A separate notebook for each subject or one partitioned into separate sections would also be beneficial. A second suggestion is that Cubs participate in school activities: sports activities, clubs, and other school sponsored events will help them make friends while developing social skills.
We need parental involvement in order to be successful in educating our Curley Cubs. In less than two weeks the first nine weeks of the school year will end; parents can help to make the difference by reminding Cubs to continue to work hard and to make up assignments missed by being absent. Parents should contact McRae if they need help in offering that assistance. In the final analysis, we need parental involvement if our Cubs are to howl in Curley Cub country.
