Two of Prescott's standout track star's Adrian Block and Kadarius Pearson competed amongst the elite track and field athletes in the Natural State at the 2018 Arkansas Decathlon hosted at Cabot High School.

Two of Prescott's standout track star's Adrian Block and Kadarius Pearson competed amongst the elite track and field athletes in the Natural State at the 2018 Arkansas Decathlon hosted at Cabot High School. The Decathlon was a two-day event competition May 16-17.
Competitors performed in a total of 10 events in the 100 meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400 meter dash, 100 meter hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, triple jump and 1500 meter run. For over 60 competitors, Block finished third overall with 5, 866 points earned. Block placed third in the long jump, second place in the 400 meter dash, won the 100 meter hurdles for first place, finished sixth place in the triple jump and seventh in the 1500 meter run.
Pearson finished 13th overall in the top 15 with 5, 171 points. Pearson finished eighth in the high jump and sixth in the pole vault for top place finishes in the Decathlon.
Overall, Haze Farmer of Lake Hamilton won the event with 5, 970 points to place first as the Decathlon Champions of 2018. Trey Green of Ashdown placed second overall with 5, 954 points, Austin Compton of Fayetteville finished fourth place with 5, 826 points, Ty Graser of Heritage placed fifth with 5, 665 points, Tanner Manasco of De Queen placed sixth with 5,563 points.
Also Cary McClain of Conway finished seventh overall with 5, 434 points, Detemon Curtis of Camden-Fairview finished eighth with 5, 413 points, Trace South of Farmington finished ninth with 5,358 and Sebastian Frazier of Springdale finished 10th with 5, 346 to round out the top 10 finishers.
Classifications from 1A-7A schools were represented to compete at the 2018 Arkansas Decathlon. Athletes from schools consisted of - Ashdown, Bald Knob, Bentonville, Bald Knob, Cabot, Bryant, Crossett, De Queen Drew Central, Clinton, Cedarville, Crossett, Bigelow, Elkins, Farmington, Genoa Central, Har-Ber, Heritage, Jessieville, Maumelle, Mountain Home, North Little Rock, Perryville, Pine Bluff, Rivercrest, Lake Hamilton, Gentry, Mansfield and Fayetteville.
This season Block and Pearson were major contributors to help Prescott's senior high boys track and field team capture it's second consecutive 3A state track championship for 2018. Prescott also won it's 12th consecutive district track title for this season as well.
Block and Pearson both performed well in a variety of field and running events to help secure another state title for the senior high boys track program at Prescott.
Block won first place in the 110 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles at state. He also was ran on the winning 4x400 meter relay team and competed in the high jump at state. Pearson won the pole vault event at state and competed in the triple jump, placed fifth in the 110 meter hurdles and competed in the 100 meter dash.
Block and Pearson both competed in all 10 events at the Decathlon and topped over 45 competitors representing Prescott.
