Continuing to compete in competitive battles on the diamond in recent softball competition last week, the Prescott Lady Wolves went the distance in match-ups against Fouke, Nashville and Centerpoint.

Continuing to compete in competitive battles on the diamond in recent softball competition last week, the Prescott Lady Wolves went the distance in match-ups against Fouke, Nashville and Centerpoint.
The Lady Wolves split wins in a double-header on the road against the Fouke Lady Panthers, fell short of battles at home hosting Nashville and got edged at Centerpoint.
This week, the Lady Wolves will be in a series of home play hosting Ashdown, Hope and Mena at James Johnson Sports Complex.
 
LADY WOLVES 8, FOUKE 5
In the first of a two game double-header, the Lady Wolves were victorious over Fouke Lady Panthers 8-5 in a seven inning affair on the diamond for softball action.
Prescott nabbed the lead late in the game to result in a three-run victory over Fouke. Prescott Lady Wolves trailed 4-3 in the top of the sixth inning when Lacie Nolen tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.
Fouke got on the board in the first inning off a single on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.
In the pitcher's circle Nicki Johnson recorded the win for Prescott. Johnson lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out one  batter and walking one and threw 48 strikes.
Nolen went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Prescott in hits. The Lady Wolves collected seven hits with eight runs scored. At the plate, Haleigh Wiley, Heavenly Zachery, Johnson and Anna Byers each had a hot apiece for doubles. Kendall Sands and Nolen each had triples. Wiley and Sands each scored two runs apiece, Nolen, Zachery, Byers and McKenzie Loe each scored a run apiece. Abby Martin, Johnson, and Wiley each drove in one run apiece for an RBI. Nolen and Byers each had two RBI's apiece to drive in two runs. Wiley and Johnson each had a stolen base apiece.

LADY WOLVES 4, FOUKE 6
In the second game of their double-header, the Prescott Lady Wolves look to for the series sweep, but fell short in a  two-run defeat by the Lady Panthers 6-4 in seven innings.
Despite a 6-run deficit in the fifth inning, Prescott rallied all the way back. Prescott scored four runs in the comeback loss on a groundout by Sands in the sixth, a triple by Johnson in the seventh, a double by Paige Brooks in the seventh, and a single by Martin in the seventh.
Prescott won the batting battle to out-hit the Lady Panthers. Prescott collected eight hits with four runs and Fouke accounted seven hits with six runs for the win.
Prescott scored three runs in the seventh inning. The Lady Wolves' batters contributed to the big inning that saw Johnson, Brooks, and Martin all driving in runs for RBI's.
In the pitcher's circle, Johnson pitched for Prescott lasting six innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out one batter and no walks and threw 41 strikes across the plate.
Martin and Brooks all had multiple hits for Prescott. Brooks and Martin each collected two hits to lead the Lady Wolves. Johnson had a triple, Nolen and Sands each recorded a single for hits. Brooks scored two runs, Wiley and Johnson each scored a run apiece. Nolen recorded the lone team stolen base against the Lady Panthers.

LADY WOLVES 7, CENTERPOINT 9
The Prescott Lady Wolves went down to the wire in a highly competitive softball battle in defeat to the Centerpoint Lady Knights 9-7 for seven innings in road competition on the diamond.
After a late score, Prescott stayed in it until the end, but Centerpoint pulled for the two-run victory. The game was tied at 7-7 with Centerpoint batting in the bottom of the sixth when the Lady Knights scored on a stolen base, with a triple to drive in one run.
Despite the loss, the Lady Wolves did collect six hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Centerpoint had 10 hits on the way to victory.
In the first inning, Centerpoint got their offense started on a ground out, scoring one run.
Prescott put up three runs in the third inning scoring its runs on a groundout by Anna Byers.
Centerpoint scored five runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by Centerpoint was led by four Lady Knights all driving in runs in the inning.
Prescott's pitcher Johnson started the game for the Lady Wolves. Johnson went six innings, allowing nine runs on 10 hits and striking out one batter and threw 63 strikes.
At the plate, Johnson went 2-for-4 to lead Prescott in hits. Nolen, Jonay Roberts, Brooks and Loe each had a single apiece. Johnson scored two runs, Nolen, Wiley, Brooks, Sands and Roberts each scored a run apiece. Byers had two RBI's, Loe and Wiley each had a RBI apiece. Johnson recorded the lone team stolen base against the Lady Knights.
