A large crowd filled the First Baptist Life Center in Prescott on Friday, February 23 as the deed to the Prairie D'Ane Battlefield acerage was officially given to the Nevada County Depot Museum.  Dr. Pat Hale, owner of the property, presented the deed to Paul Ridgell, President of the Board of Directors of the Nevada County Depot & Museum.  A number of special guests were on hand including Department of Arkansas Heritage Director Stacy Hurst, Mark Christ of Arkansas Historic Preservation, and the Executive Director of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.  Preston explained how the development of the property would be an economic boom to all of the region as tourism is a positive economic force.  Also speaking was Dr. Carl Drexler of the Arkansas Archaelogical Survey.  Following the program the guests were presented gift baskets filled with unique Nevada County products.
