The Nevada Lady Jays wrapped up their regular season schedule last week splitting wins on the road defeating the Taylor Lady Tigers 57-47 and falling to Kirby Lady Trojans 67-42.

This week, the Lady Jays will enter into district tournament competition hosted at Ouachita High School in Donaldson. The Lady Jays earn the No. 2 seed by finishing the conference season second with an impressive final home win against Emerson Lady Pirates and defeating Taylor on last Friday night.

Thus far, the Lady Jays created some noise on the hardwood to post a streak of victories at home and on the road to produce .500 overall record at 13-11. Since the start of the new year, the Lady Jays have regrouped to post victory to sweep season series meeting against Emerson, Taylor, Parkers Chapel, Strong and Bradley that provides a boost of confidence heading into the district tournament this week.
Senior girls district tourney play is schedule Feb. 15-17 at Ouachita High School Gymnasium. Tourney play begins on Thursday Feb. 15 with No. 4 seed Emerson facing No. 5 seed Taylor at 6:30 p.m. Nevada Lady Jays will take on No. 3 seed Bradley on Friday Feb. 16 at 4:30 p.m. The finals will be on Saturday Feb. 17 at 6 p.m., with the third place game scheduled at 3 p.m.
