The Nevada Lady Jays wrapped up their final home game of the season victorious hosting the Emerson Lady Pirates 64-47 on senior night last Friday at Nevada High School Gymnasium.

The Lady Jays never trailed the entire contest to display an impressive last home performance for the Rosston community hoop fans at Nevada High School Gymnasium.
In first quarter action, the Lady Jays' Kiara Frazier scored the first five points of the game to give Nevada a 5-0 lead down to the 6:45 mark. Then, Frazier added another big bucket, knocked down a pair of free-throws with Camyia Cody, Aaliyah Grant each scoring a couple of baskets that had Nevada leading Emerson 14-8 down to the 2:03 mark in the opening period. Emerson scored their final basket of the period under a minute, but Nevada's Carolyn Dixon swished a shot at the buzzer to give the Lady Jays an 18-10 lead to end first quarter action.
In the second, the Lady Jays poured the points on the board with Dixon completing a three-point play with the free-throw good to extend Nevada's lead 21-10 down to the 6:45 mark. Dixon came back swishing a trifecta from behind the arc including seven points scored with Frazier adding a bucket put Nevada up 31-12 down to the 3:38 mark. The Lady Jays would hold onto their lead and ended first half action leading Emerson, 35-17 at halftime.
In the second half, the Lady Jays outscored Emerson with 14 points scored in the third and 17 points in the fourth quarter. Nevada had a 49-28 lead at the end of third quarter action to with the Lady Pirates posting 19 points scored in the finale period of the game.
For the game, Lady Jays' Dixon led scoring with 22 points and Frazier pored 20 points for double-figures.
Prior to their game against Emerson, the Lady Jays fell short on the road to Bradley 54-47. Dixon led scoring with 18 points for double-figures.
This week, the Lady Jays continue hoops on the road against Taylor and Kirby as they'll get ready to compete in the district tournament hosted at Ouachita High School Feb. 15-17.
