Prescott Curley Cubs took care of business in their final home game before heading off to district tournament hoops last Tuesday night in total domination defeating the Ashdown Jr. Panthers 51-27 at the Prescott Sports Arena. The Curley Cubs won the scoring battle in double-digits for all four quarters of action that granted them the 24 point victory in their final home game of the regular reason.
The Curley Cubs had a slight three point edge at the end of the first quarter 14-11, but spread opened their lead margin in the second and outscored the Jr. Panthers 11-4. At the break, the Curley Cubs led Ashdown 25-15. In the second half, the Curley Cubs dropped 26 points on the scoreboard with 14 points in the third and 12 points in the fourth quarters. Ashdown was held to 12 points totaled for both third and fourth quarters combined.
For the game, Curley Cubs' Jacobi Nolen led scoring with 14 points and Tracy McClinton had 12 points for double-figures. Jacaylon Zachery followed with six points, Chadrius Haynie, Devin Rash and Caleb Harris each scored four points apiece, Tywan Thompson and Jace Ingram each added two points apiece.
The Curley Cubs finished their conference season unbeaten heading into the 7-3A Boys Jr. High District Tournament which tipped off this week hosted at Genoa Central. The tournament is scheduled Feb. 5-10.
