Lady Wolves' leading scorer Lacie Nolen does it again to lift her team to victory in the closing seconds that gave Prescott an thrilling victory over a good and tough Cossatot River Lady Eagles team, 25-24 last Friday night in home action at the Prescott Sports Arena. Prior to their big home victory, last Tuesday night the Lady Wolves would fall short on the road to Ashdown, 48-44.
This week, the Lady Wolves hit the road once again to face Genoa Central, then head to G-town to face off against Gurdon Lady Go-Devils to close out their series meeting. On this Friday night, the Lady Wolves return home to host Horatio in senior high girls action at the Prescott Sports Arena.

LADY WOLVES 25, COSSATOT RIVER 24
The Lady Wolves were in a competitive battle all night long with the Lady Eagles. With productive  and intense defense showcased by both teams the entire game, the Lady Wolves survived led by their ace player and leading scorer Nolen dropping 19 points and swishing three key trifecta's from behind the arc to will Prescott over visiting Cossatot River. This was the second time at home the senior point guard Nolen has hit the game winning shot in a close duel to lead Prescott in victory. The first time was against Genoa Central in the Lady Wolves final home game before the Christmas holiday break December 19, 2017.
In their thrilling win on Friday night, the Lady Wolves trailed in first half action. Second leading scorer Haleigh Wiley sparked her Lady Wolves team with a bucket to get the Prescott on the scoreboard but trailing Cossatot River 3-2 at the 5:48 mark in first period action. The Lady Eagles jumped back up for an three point lead 5-2, but Nolen drained a 3-pointer to knot the game at 5-5 at the 3:36 mark. Cossatot River regain the lead with their final basket of the quarter at the 2:47 mark, but Nolen's basket tied the game at 7-7 down to the 2:19 mark. In the closing seconds in first quarter play, the Lady Eagles nailed a shot at the buzzer to led Prescott 9-7 at the end of first quarter action.
In the second quarter, the Lady Eagles managed four points scored, but the Lady Wolves were held scoreless. At the break, the Lady Wolves trailed Cossatot River, 13-7.
In the third quarter, the Lady Wolves had a more progressive scoring period with nine points added to the scoreboard to outscore the Lady Eagles, but Prescott trailed 18-16 at the end of three periods of action.
In the fourth, Nolen took over and scored all of the Lady Wolves nine points in the period. Nolen knocked down her third trey from behind the arc at the 6:32 mark in the fourth that was key. Defensively, the Lady Eagles were held to six points scored in the final period. After Nolen's last trey of the game, that put Prescott up 19-18 and the Lady Wolves would never lose the lead until the Lady Eagles answered with five consecutive points from the 1:48 mark that gave them the 24-23 advantage. The Lady Wolves held offensive possession with 20 seconds left to play and Nolen drove into the paint area to score over a host of Lady Eagle defenders that gave the Lady Wolves the lead for good at 4.7 seconds in the game. Cossatot River wasn't able to execute in the closing seconds to score and Prescott was victorious with excitement.
For the game, Wiley and Anna Byers each contributed three points apiece with Nolen's 19 points for the Prescott "Big 3".

PRESCOTT 44, ASHDOWN 48
The Lady Wolves had a productive scoring night on the road in their tough loss to Ashdown Lady Panthers, 48-44. The Lady Wolves led at the end of first quarter action 12-11. In the second, the Lady Wolves got outscored by Ashdown 13-7. At halftime, the Lady Wolves trailed Ashdown, 24-19. In the second half, the Lady Wolves outscored Ashdown 25-22 for third and fourth quarters combined, but the Lady Panthers secured the four point home win over visiting Prescott, despite a 20 point scoring period in the fourth by the Lady Wolves. For the game, Nolen led scoring with a big 21 points and swished two 3-pointers for double-figures. Wiley and Byers each followed with nine points apiece. Byers also hit three trey's from behind the arc and Jonay Robers finished with four points.
