Following the Christmas holiday break, the Nevada Blue Jays and Lady Jays basketball teams got their first taste of the new year last week splitting home wins hosting Camden Harmony Grove and battling Lafayette County on the road to began the second half of the 2017-18 season schedule.

Following the Christmas holiday break, the Nevada Blue Jays and Lady Jays basketball teams got their first taste of the new year last week splitting home wins hosting Camden Harmony Grove and battling Lafayette County on the road to began the second half of the 2017-18 season schedule.
The Lady Jays looked to even their season series battle hosting Camden Harmony Grove in senior girls action, but the visiting CHG Lady Hornets prevailed 54-28. The Lady Jays bounced back the next night sweeping their season series against Lafayette County 59-44 to build momentum going into this week's action.
For the Blue Jays, they took care of business sweeping their season series meeting at home hosting Camden Harmony Grove 58-34 and on the road against the Lafayette County Cougars. Prior to new year hoops, the Blue Jays competed in tournament competition hosted at Camden-Fairview over the Christmas holiday break December 28-30. The Blue Jays defeated Dermott 59-44, but fell short to host tourney team Camden-Fairview Cardinals 68-49 and Bearden 69-60 to finish tourney play 1-2.
This week, Nevada hoopsters will return to the hardwood to finish season series facing Parkers Chapel and Strong at home at Nevada High School Gymnasium.
