Although temperatures were cooler than normal, Prescott celebrated the start of the Christmas season with its traditional downtown parade and Christmas on the Square events last Thursday night.

Although temperatures were cooler than normal, Prescott celebrated the start of the Christmas season with its traditional downtown parade and Christmas on the Square events last Thursday night. An estimated 22 floats and trucks were decorated in lights, and of course, reflected the traditional holiday theme.
As in previous years, Christmas music was played throughout the square. The Prescott Curley Wolves Marching Band participated in the parade as well. Also, as with most parades in Prescott, the various floats and trucks tossed treats to the spectators.
There was also the appearance of Santa Claus, who also met personally with a lineup of kids outside the Nevada County Courthouse.
As in previous years, the parade and Christmas on the Square were sponsored by the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce.

The evening also featured the kids of Central Baptist Church singing on the courthouse steps. Santa Claus greeting several local kids, like Cora Carlton and JC Carlton as well as baby Millie Sargent and Tyllan Sargent.
