RUSSELLVILLE - The 60th Annual Meet of Champions event was hosted at Russellville High School on Saturday, May 13 and Prescott Curley Wolves' Deonte Jamison competed in the boys triple jump to place third overall with a school best jump at 45-8.

RUSSELLVILLE - The 60th Annual Meet of Champions event was hosted at Russellville High School on Saturday, May 13 and Prescott Curley Wolves' Deonte Jamison competed in the boys triple jump to place third overall with a school best jump at 45-8. Jamison was amongst the best track and field athletes in the entire state of Arkansas competing of all classification 1A-7A. Jamison was a representative from the Class 3A competing at the Meet of Champions. Class 7A Bentonville's Adrian Broadus won the triple jump at 47-09 and Marquel McKinney of Gosnell placed second at 46-11.25 in the triple jump.
Jamison helped the Prescott Curley Wolves track and field team capture the 2017 Class 3A state track title which was held at Eddie Jackson Field, Cummins Stadium in Prescott. The Curley Wolves racked up 109 points to secure to overall top place finish to now add another state championship to their sports year in Prescott.
Jamison placed first at the state meet in the triple jump with a winning jump of 45-04.00.
Jamison was apart of the Curley Wolves 4 x 400 meter relay team placing first with a winning time of 3:36.90. The Curley Wolves also captured the 7-3A District Track Meet championship for 2017 at Eddie Jackson Field, Cummins Stadium in Prescott. At the district meet, Jamison placed second in the 110 hurdles at 14.80, placed third in the 300 meter hurdles at 40.50. He competed on the 4 x 400 meter relay team that won first place with a winning time of 3:32.75 and placed third in the high jump at 5-10.00. He won the long jump with a winning jump of 19-03 and the triple jump at 43-10.50. The Curley Wolves racked up a total of 275 points to win district for the 11th consecutive year.
