An enthusiastic student body cheered on their peers during a talent show held at Prescott High School Friday.
The event was organized by students in honor of classmate Katie Cummings, who passed away in November at the age of 14 after battling cancer.
Principal Missy Walley said the fund raiser was initiated by students.
"Our students took it upon themselves to hold this event and wanted to donated the money to a cause that would honor Katie," Walley said. "The students have created a kind of movement about this and call it #KatieStrong."
Proceeds will go to the cancer center at Arkansas Children's Hospital and administrators hope to assist the student council in finding matches for the funds the students raised before making the donation.
More than 20 participants entertained the crowd in the form of playing instruments such as drums and guitar, singing, acting, and magic tricks.
Participants include Alexis Inscore, Jodie Lathrop, Micheal Inscore, Cade Haynie, Cerin Wilson, Eufemia Estrada, Patoreus Lewis, Deadra Ratcliff, Randi Huckabee, Kaylee McGill, Essence Thomas, Denna Rangel, Sidney Niveen, Namoi Jones, Kendall Laughburg, Jase Ingram, Cassidy Archer, Olivia Williams, Derrick Nolen, Mickell Sorrells, Tristian Hendrix, Andrew Purifoy, Carly Vanhook and Patoreus Lewis.
