Mr. Thomas Jason “T.J.” Baker, 28, of Prescott, died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at his home.
T.J. was born Jan. 20, 1982, in Tupelo, Miss., to Benjamin and Robin Bocox Baker. He was employed with the Prescott Red-E Mart; a member of the Prescott Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the FEMA Rescue Squad of Mooreville, Miss. He attended Liberty Church of the Nazarene in the Redland Community in Prescott.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rev. Thomas Bocox and by two brothers, Shawn and Lloyd Skiever.
His survivors include one son, Thomas Baker, Jr. of Tupelo, Miss.; his father, Benjamin Baker of Winfield, La.; his mother, Robin Kennedy of Prescott; one brother, Todd Baker and Nadine of Tupelo, Miss.; one sister, Bobbie Skiever of Prescott; maternal grandmother, Bobbie Bocox of Prescott; two aunts, Pam Edge of Prescott and Jan Young of Hope; one uncle and aunt, Olen Bocox and Lyn of Henderson, Tenn.; his fiancé, Amy Creek of Prescott; two nieces; one nephew; numerous great-aunts; cousins; other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 11, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott, with Rev. Larry Strouse officiating. The burial was in Liberty Cemetery in Redland Community in Prescott. The arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott.
The family received friends Wednesday, March 10, from 6-8 p.m., at Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott.
