The Spirit of Hope” fireworks show sponsored by the First United Methodist Church at 2300 S. Main St. will highlight a full evening of fun.
Activities begin at 7 p. m. with a decorated bike parade,” Kori Rohrbaugh, the church secretary at First United Methodist Church, said. “People who are planning to come and stay for the fireworks need to bring their own chairs and if they could, bring some canned food for Hope in Action.”
The church is also going to take a love offering for Methodist Family Health and for the “Read to Succeed” program.
The 'Read to Succeed Program' is really neat because they give children their own handmade book case and several age-appropriate books that the children can keep,” Rohrbaugh said.
Special entertainment is scheduled before the fireworks and there will be hot dogs, drinks, and pickles on sale.
There are also fun and family events that will be held in Blevins on Friday.
The Blevins Community Fire Works Show will be held at Blevins High School Cafeteria and Baseball Field on Friday, beginning at 6:30 p. m. There will be free hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and drinks. Fireworks will begin at dark. Everyone should bring their lawn chairs.
    Donations will be accepted.
