  • The Charitable Christian Medical Clinic will benefit from the expertise of the Hope Lions Club here Tuesday.
The Lions will fry up delicious fish and all the trimmings Tuesday evening at the Hope Fair Park Coliseum.
The Clinic and the Lions have put on this fish fry for 15 years,” Beverly Reyenga, secretary of the clinic board, said. “We have really benefited from the annual fundraiser and the most we ever raised was $9,000.”
The venue is not just a fish fry, but attendees have an opportunity buy baked auction items, too.
It's a chance to visit and have fellowship with neighbors and friends alike,” she said. “We always enjoy visiting and laughing with friends at that particular fish fry.”
The proceeds go for supplies and medication for the clinic, according to Dr. Dale Goins, medical director of the clinic.
In the past, the fish fry has really boosted our funds and hopefully, this year is no exception,” Dr. Goins said. “We have been hosting this event for a long time and hopefully, it will be going on for a long time to come.”
The cakes featured in the baked auction are made by church groups, not only in Hope, but also from the surrounding areas, according to Reyenga.
We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the fried fish and all the trimmings,” Reyenga said. “It is for a good cause and we would like to continue the services we offer for a long time to come. Events like these help further that goal.”
Serving is from 4:30-7 p. m. Tuesday at the Fair Park Coliseum. Tickets are available from any Hope Lions Club member, or at the door, and are $9 each.
