Hope police are seeking a man who robbed the Hope Quick Mart at gun point Monday night. Hope Police Department Assistant Chief Kim Tomlin said in a press statement issued this morning that the robbery occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Monday night while the convenience store in the 1300 block of East Third Street was still open for business. Tomlin said officers responded to the business location in reference to an aggravated robbery complaint. “Upon arrival, officers made contact with the clerk who told officers that a person who as approximately 5-feet, 10 inches tall and slender build, wearing a dark colored hooded sweat shirt, a Halloween mask, and dark jeans, entered the store and demanded money,” she said. Tomlin said the assailant was armed with a gun. “The suspect took an undetermined amount of cash from the register, then fled the area,” she said. “Anyone having information about this incident is asked to please call the Hope Police Department or Detective Andrew Watson at 870-722-2563.” HPD Chief J. R. Wilson said this morning that investigators are continuing to develop initial leads concerning the robbery as the probe unfolds, but he had no additional information to provide at press time.
